Karen Leary’s career focused on industry and logistics, and it was rewarding and satisfying. It allowed her to travel and live in other countries. After retirement, she still felt she had much to offer and believed it was time to give back to her community. Within her seniors community, she has worked with others to establish a food distribution program for those seniors who are food insecure. Their focus is on high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables that seniors require in their diet to maintain good health. They went on to form a not-for-profit to help seniors live their best lives.
About the Project
Community Includes Us! will focus on social inclusion of seniors and on intergenerational opportunities within the community. The project aims to offer a range of programs that will enrich the lives of seniors, encompassing art, storytelling, movement, and music. These programs will run every week.
