About the Project
Theatre Making North Bay offers free, accessible play-reading events for seniors, fostering connection, creativity, and emotional expression. Sessions in civic venues, such as the North Bay Public Library and White Water Gallery, as well as other underutilized spaces, feature interactive theatre activities that welcome all, regardless of experience. Materials and refreshments are provided through community partnerships. The project combats isolation and activates public space by bringing the healing, community-building power of the arts directly to older adults. This phase expands reach, adds workshops (theatre games and scene work), increases session frequency and locations, and builds intergenerational connections through public showcases and guided creative dialogue.
