About the Project

ArtOut's goal is positive recognition for members of the LGBTQ community, through a four-part art program, followed by an exhibition and award ceremony at the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, a publicly held heritage building on the banks of the Niagara River. Art classes will include an introductory lecture on Queer Art History, followed by art-making classes comprised of drawing, painting, and large-scale street art. Instructors to include LGBTQ members. Participating artists will be invited to submit their creations to an art show during Pride Month. The opening reception and award ceremony will recognize the artistic achievements of participating artists.
