Shauna Rae lives in rural Ontario and has a passion for rural advocacy. A lifelong student, Shauna has always had an insatiable curiosity. With a background in radio journalism and community engagement, she is an innovative thinker who explores life and the world through podcasting, writing, and storytelling. Shauna asks how traditional journalism can evolve, rooted in truth, while accommodating multiple perspectives. How do we spark curiosity and remove barriers so young folks can explore what’s possible when they ask questions of adults in power? And how do we stay grounded and focused in a fast-paced, overstimulating world?
About the Project
Youth for Truth (Y4T) is a youth-led initiative that reimagines what journalism can be in the hands of young people from rural areas. It’s a space for exploration, curiosity and transformation where young people are empowered to ask bold questions, tell authentic stories, and engage meaningfully with their communities. All while learning our own truth, both individually and collectively, and how we remain rooted in our own values.
