About the Project
Love Surrounds Us starts from a hard number: in 2024, Hamilton recorded its highest level of hate-motivated crimes and incidents in over a decade, with Black, Jewish, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities among those most frequently targeted. As we work on solutions, we must also highlight another truth. Hamilton is a city where love blossoms and surrounds us. This project captures stories of love and care from Hamiltonians, gathered and marked at the exact locations where they happened. We must remember that love outnumbers hate. This is motivation to build a city that represents all of us.
