Experimenting with Microparades in Waterloo Region | Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
Hannah Gardiner is a writer and cultural worker from Kitchener. She has a master’s degree in literary studies from the University of Waterloo. Hannah has curated different community-based art projects, including an ongoing philosophy café series and her most recent project, a giraffe parade in honour of Anne Innis Dagg. As an Ontario Community Changemaker, she intends to continue to creatively explore ways of bringing people together through shared experiences.

About the Project
This project is a nostalgic return to an enduring community ritual: parades. Parades remind us of the value of coming together in a public space without a ‘purpose’ or ‘aim.’ For my project, I will research, develop and host a “micro-parade” in a public space and build a digital resource outlining the process to encourage others to host their own.
