About the Project
The Farm to Table Food Access Project aims to provide equitable access to fresh, affordable food in Hamilton's food deserts, particularly Downtown and the North End. Community members will place orders for locally sourced produce from farmers at the Hamilton Farmers Market, paying what they can afford. Food will be distributed through Compass Community Health Centre, a central and accessible hub. This project fosters community engagement, supports local agriculture, and addresses food insecurity, creating a sustainable model for healthy eating in underserved neighbourhoods.
