Reyna Ingel-Kainth
One Community: Connecting Cultures Through Play | Brampton
Reyna grew up and completed her education in the Philippines, graduating with a Bachelor of Accountancy. She moved to Canada in 2006 through the Live-in Caregiver Program and is now a proud Canadian citizen, having put down roots with her family in Brampton for over 13 years. She worked in wealth management and insurance and obtained professional credentials and licences. Over time, she chose to focus on supporting my husband’s small business and, most importantly, raising their beautiful twin boys. Raising multicultural children has given her a deep appreciation for different cultures, traditions, and the diversity that makes Brampton special.
About the Project
One Community: Connecting Cultures Through Play brings families together in parks and community centres through traditional childhood games from around the world. Each session will feature one or two games per country, depending on complexity. Sunny days will focus on active outdoor games that encourage movement, teamwork, and healthy play, while rainy or winter days will feature indoor mind games, strategy, and creativity. Families will also learn about each culture through storytelling, traditions and activities. The project will reflect Brampton’s diversity by including both larger and smaller cultural communities, while connecting parents with local programs and resources.
