Queer Ecology Hikes | Peterborough, Ottawa, & Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Zwena Gray is a storyteller, adventurer, and community cultivator with a deep love for nature and connection. Whether organizing Queer Ecology Hikes or exploring new trails, I find joy in discovering the interconnectedness of people, land, and stories. Raised between diverse landscapes and cultures, I draw inspiration from both my roots and my travels, blending these experiences into a life centered around community, curiosity, and reflection. My passion lies in creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and connected—whether through shared outdoor adventures, meaningful conversations, or moments of quiet in nature.
About the Project
Queer Ecology Hikes are an invitation to explore nature through a queer lens. These guided hikes create space for community connection and conversation, exploring themes of reciprocity, consent, and the fluidity of nature. We engage with local ecosystems, challenge rigid binaries, and honor the interconnectedness of all living beings. Through storytelling and shared experiences, participants are encouraged to reimagine their relationship with the natural world while connecting with others in a safe, inclusive space. These hikes take place year-round, featuring rotating facilitators who bring unique perspectives to each season’s natural offerings.
